Size of Park: 94 acres, 82 sites. Mariposa is Spanish for butterfly. The name was chosen to create the acronym CAMP! Mowing time: about 8 hours/week.
Size of Pond: 1¼ acres - contains large mouth bass, calico bass, perch, and sunfish (blue gills and pumpkin seeds) for catch’n’release fishing, plus 6 grass carp - often compared to the Loch Ness monster by wide-eyed children! Five butterfly gardens planted with butterfly weed, butterfly bush, coreopsis, hollyhocks, sweet william, impatiens, bee balm, purple coneflower, and cosmos, attract lots of butterflies: monarchs, white admirals, fritillaries, swallowtails, cabbage whites, sulphurs, and also hummingbirds!
Trees in the park include larch, hickory, oak, beech, maple, elm, red pine, white pine, cherry, etc. Highly rated by and listed in the following national directories: Woodall's, Trailer Life, Wheeler's, and Frommers Best RV and Tent Campgrounds (a very selective guide which awarded Mariposa a Best Rural Setting award.). Also well affiliated: member of Campground Owners of New York (CONY), National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC), Northeast Campground Association, Inc., National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Fillmore Area Business Association.
